My name is Kate Colfelt and I am a sophomore here at James Madison University. I decided to major in SMAD because I have a passion for creativity and being around people. I am a declared corporate communications major and I am excited for all that I am going to learn this semester in SMAD 201, 202, and 242.
I come to JMU from Sterling, Virginia, a short two hour drive north of here. I attended Potomac Falls High School and found my passion for mass media art and design while leading my yearbook staff as editor-in-chief during my senior year. I also am a volunteer Young Life leader in Shenandoah County where I spend 10-15 hours of my week hanging out with high school students and sharing my faith with them.
I also have a passion for being around children and am interested in working with them in my real world job. My dream is to travel the world and help kids in desolate countries that cannot help themselves.
