The pop band that caught the world off guard was formed in 1994 in England. The Spice Girls had five members:
Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton.
In 1996 the girls released their debut single Wannabe that rapidly became the band's number-one hit single in more than 30 countries. They have sold 75 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling female group of all time.
At a concert in Turkey The Sun described them as, "The girl's debut was competent and capable and a triumph."
